This video is in no way shape or form a tech clip. I am not posting it to show you any type of new technology. It just made me so sick to my stomach that I had to share it to spread the word; to show you how, this particular slaughter house, handles their ummm products. Warning:This is very graphic! I'm not sure if I will ever eat a steak and not think about this clip. Yes, I will continue to eat meat if your wondering. Still very sad indeed. What are your thoughts on this?

These sorts of videos are the bread and butter of PETA activists, and so I take them with a grain of salt. While it certainly isn't humane, these folks release animals to die in the name of "freedom".
That being said, agribusiness is a bit of a mess as is, with large-scale production factories. Only about 35 years ago did farmers move from feeding cows grass (which they are naturally designed for), moving them pasture to pasture, to keeping them rather stationary and feeding them grain. They did this because they can fatten them faster this way. But then the shortcuts got worse-- they started feeding them ground offcuts and such, and we wound up with mad cow disease.
I'm sure corn farmers don't like to hear this, but corn makes people fat as easy as cows. High fructose corn syrup is cheap only in America, it seems. And now they're talking about using it as a replacement for petroleum-- in cellulose alternatives to plastic and biofuels.
But getting back to the video, the descriptions I've heard concerning chickens aren't much better. They put them in tiny cages where they can't move. They tend to go nuts and peck each other, so they clip off the tips of their beaks. The chickens tend to get sick a lot, so they get pumped full of antibiotics, just like the cows do. They also get growth hormones, as the cows also do, so their breasts grow to abnormal sizes to produce... larger breast meat, of course.
Blah blah blah... on and on... a mess. Not easy to reverse, I'm sure, because then beef, chicken, and egg prices would go up. They've already gone up because of higher gas prices spiking transportation costs.
